6th Grade

Our vision is to continue to build upon the strong faith and learning foundation that our sixth graders have walked in these five plus years at OldSchool, partnering with parents as we seek to nurture these young hearts to live with an eternal perspective.

Our vision and central focus for core subjects for sixth grade are to have a symbiotic relationship between history, language arts, literature, vocabulary, creative writing, science, logic and reasoning and the arts. Bringing the past to life with engaging literature, stories, myths, biographies and the bible, all the while connecting the dots of how these things relate to one another and building their worldview that there is a God who planned, ordered, and continues to order their steps.

This is a year to be purposeful in helping these children discover who they say God is…what do they believe about Him and where did their perspective and understanding come from. In this era of AI what will keep this next generation grounded, and how will they define what is true and what is false.

It is an honor to partner with our parents in guiding these children as we purposefully help them grow stronger and more solid in their faith, all the while making them “dangerous to the darkness.”
