Kindergarten
Kindergarten with Ms. Jan and Ms. Kim is so much fun! We use a combination of games, hands-on activities, visual aids, read aloud and writing time to give students a variety of methods and opportunities to understand and learn. We are committed to teaching, guiding and encouraging each student with gentleness and reassurance.
We partner with parents by teaching the fundamentals in class on Mondays and Wednesdays that you will then reinforce at home on homeschool days. Each co-op day we review previous concepts as well as learn new ones in math (Saxon Math 1), reading (All About Reading 1) and spelling (All About Spelling 1). We also spend time on handwriting, poetry/memory work, American Sign Language (ASL), logic, music, art and Christlike character traits (kindness, patience, gentleness, self-control, etc.) throughout the week.
In addition to these subjects, we invite parents to sign up to be “mystery readers” each week. This is a wonderful opportunity in which parents come and read their child’s favorite book(s) to the class. It is always such a fun surprise and treat for the whole class!
Lastly, each week a student gets to take Snoopy home for the weekend. During their time, they document their adventures with Snoopy and then share about them the following week. Everyone looks forward to their time with Snoopy!
